Lessons From Vacation

A recent sailing trip to the British Virgin Islands was a reminder to recreate the sense of being on vacation through design in our every day lives. The feeling of being relaxed and comfortable can be achieved through color, accessories, and usable outdoor living areas. Island life is all about reducing stress and living the day with ease. Life aboard a sail boat exemplifies the adage "A place for everything and everything in its place". Chaos quickly ensues when things are not put away as routine. When our environment is simple and pleasing to the eye, we are able to think clearly and appreciate the beauty surrounding us.
